Welcome to February!
Well, we all survived the trifecta of the Super Blue Blood Moon of 2018! Believe it or not, teachers can really tell when there’s a full moon or a change in the barometer, but I’m happy to say there were only a few signs of it here at school this week. Today was Groundhog Day, and it was reported that Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow, which predicts another six weeks of winter. Of course, Phil lives in Gobbler’s Knob, PA, not Texas, so we shall see! Next week, we move on to the 100th Day of School on Wednesday, and I look forward to seeing our students’ ideas of how they will look at the age of 100 years old! The following week will bring Random Acts of Kindness and Valentine’s Day. See, we’re already marching our way thru February!
After Care – Mrs. Gupta will be out for the next two weeks, and since there is no sub, our staff will be filling in while she’s gone. It’s possible that teachers will take the students to their classrooms, so we will post a sign to let you know which room they’re in that day. Please continue to communicate with Jacque or me regarding any changes in your plans for After Care.
Toasty Tuesdays – We’re switching things up a bit and moving our spirtwear/warmup day to Tuesdays for the month of February. That will start this Tuesday, February 6th!
Memory Verse for February: “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.” ~ I Corinthians 10:13
Quote of the Week: “Mothers and Fathers hold their child’s hands for just a little while and their hearts forever.” ~ Irish Proverb
Have a great weekend!
