Believe it or not, we’re already halfway thru February! This means we are only 3 weeks away from Spring Break, and our 5th graders are anxiously counting down the days until our trip to Colonial Williamsburg, which occurs the week before the break. I can tell that our last 3 months together are going to fly by, so we are determined to make the most of our time left! Every day, I am blessed to see our wonderful teachers investing in the lives of your children, and the quality of teaching and learning that occurs in our building is inspiring! I am so grateful for our St. Philip’s family!
A few changes – As I mentioned last week, Friday, 2/23, will be Jacque Ballent’s last day with us. She is going to be greatly missed by everyone, but I especially will miss all that she does for our school, as I will be taking on most of her responsibilities. With that in mind, I need to let you know that since I will be on the trip with our 5th graders, we will not have hot lunches the week before Spring Break (March 5-9). Students will need to bring their lunches, or you are welcome to bring them a lunch, but making this change will simplify the process for our staff in my absence. I know that some of you have already paid for this week, but we’ll just move your payment to the week we return from Spring Break. Thank you for your support, for being flexible, and for understanding my dilemma!
Friday, Feb. 23rd – Legends Game – We’re looking forward to seeing our students show off their Drumba and Tinikling skills before the Legends game. To purchase tickets for the game, go to:
Students will need to arrive at 5:15 pm, and they will perform at 7:00 pm. Coach Binyon will be sending additional information as we get closer, but I wanted you to have the link for purchasing tickets.
SPESF Spirit Night – Feb. 27th – We hope that you will plan to join us for dinner at Flippin’ Pizza, located at 8161 FM423 Suite 230. They’re known for their New York-style thin-crust pizza, and they offer an array of toppings. Come on out and enjoy a good meal and great fellowship with our St. Philip’s family!
Memory Verse for February: “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.” ~ I Corinthians 10:13
Quote of the Week: “Don’t get so busy making a living, that you forget to make a life.” ~ Dolly Parton
Have a great LONG weekend!
