We’ve had another great week at St. Philip’s, and I think we are all excited to have a nice, long weekend ahead of us! This one always seems to come at just the right time!
Blessing of the Animals, Oct. 7th, 5:00 pm – Last year, this event was held during the school day, but this year, you’re invited to bring your pets for a very special Blessing of the Animals with St. Philip’s Episcopal church. In addition to an abbreviated outdoor worship service, this event will feature:
- Pet blessings, gifts and treats
- Pet pic “selfie spot”
- Adopt-a-Pet with Sacred Paws
- Special appearance by “St. Francis of Assisi”
Please bring your pet on a leash, in a carrier or cage for their protection. More info at stphilipsfrisco.org.
First Spirit Night of the Year– We hope to see everyone at our Spirit Night at Mooyah Burgers on Wednesday, Oct. 11th, any time between 4:30 – 7:30 pm. We met there last year and had a fun night of fellowship! When you go, be sure to tell them that you’re from St. Philip’s!
Dress Code and Uniforms – Thank you for responding to the request to return to full uniform and dress code. Just a reminder, denim is only allowed on Fridays now, and sport shorts are not allowed. If you are having specific challenges, please contact me, and I will do my best to assist you in working thru the problem.
Picture Day – October 18th – Yesterday, students should have brought home an order form for school pictures from Legacy Studios. Simply make your choices, pay online and bring receipt, or send payment the day of pictures. Reminder – as we will be taking individual and group photos, we do want to have a uniform appearance, so if you do not have a complete uniform, our Plan B for Picture Day will be:
Boys – white button-down collared shirt with navy shorts or pants
Girls – white collared shirt with either the plaid skort/skirt or navy skort/skirt
Memory Verse for October: “An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.” ~ Proverbs 12:25
Quote of the Week: “Organization is what you do before you do something so that when you do it, it’s not all mixed up.” ~ Christopher Robin
Have a wonderful weekend!
